The blue yeti without a doubt is an amazing microphone and allows you to have nearly studio quality for your music, live streams and videos for a fraction of the price of the professional mics on the market, but does the Nano hold up?

Port/Compatability - The Blue Yeti: Nano uses both Aux cord and Micro-USB, You can use both to hook up the mic to your PC, speakers and really any other device you want to hook it up to that is compatible with an external microphone. The only condition is that you have the USB hooked up to a power source as the microphone can't draw power through the Aux port from your device.

Quality - The quality of the Blue Yeti: Nano is crisp and clear, The microphone doesn't have as much bass as the classic Yeti or the Pro, however, it isn't noticeable unless you compare them side by side. If you would like to get past this I would recommend either editing in post with a program such as Audacity or if you use this microphone to live stream I recommend a program such as Voicemeeter to clean up the audio and add bass on the go.

Modes - On the back of the microphone you will see a button that allows you to switch between 2 recording modes. Omnidirectional and Cardioid. On top of this, the front dial can be used to control the volume of the Aux port and on top of that if you press it in the microphone turns off and can be turned back on in an instant.

Cardioid - The microphone will only focus on audio in the front 90 degrees of itself. This is good for recording dialogue.

Omnidirectional - The microphone will focus on all 360 degrees around itself. This is good for recording sound effects.

All in all the Blue Yeti: Nano is a great choice if you are looking for a quality mic on a budget. Even though it may not compare 1 to 1 with professional studio mics the quality is still amazing for streaming, music and any other uses you may have for it.
