The Wii may not be the most powerful game console, even when it came out, a year after the Xbox 360 with the hardware being closer to the PlayStation 2 than the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. With that being said the WII took a more gameplay-oriented approach, letting the "gimmick" of motion gaming be what took the console and made it one of the best-selling consoles of all time.

There are no good games on Nintendo Wii" : r/gaming

The library of the Nintendo Wii has a lot of shovel-ware I will admit, Games that just add more to play no matter how broken or boring they are, however, don't let that deter you from this console. Games like 'Wii Fit & Wii Fit Plus', 'Mario Kart Wii', 'The Biggest Loser', and so many more allow you to play amazing games and in most cases shed a few pounds in the process as the Wii not only focused on casual games for you to play on your own or with family and friends but also focused on fitness as the console is all about its motion controls.

What Wii is best for you?

While you may not have the largest amount of choices with a console that is more than 16 years old there are a few different models for the Wii that you want to take a look into (and I'm not just talking about Wii vs Wii U. (But we will also get into that option too)).

- The Classic Wii. The classic Wii is personally my favourite option for the original Wii lineup because not only does it have WI-FI (unlike the Mini), However, mainly because of the backwards Compatibility allowing you to play GameCube games from your Wii.

- The second-generation Wii is the same as the classic, however, it doesn't have the backwards Compatibility that the classic model had. This isn't all bad as you may be able to save some money if that isn't really something that you cared about

- The Wii Mini strips the console down even further by not only getting rid of the GameCube features but also by getting rid of all internet features. This isn’t a huge deal since all online features (Aside from the web browser) have been discontinued. On top of this if the Wii doesn’t have the web browser installed already you can’t install it since the Wii store has been discontinued.

- The Wii U is the best option for the Wii. Not only does it allow you to play all Wii games up till that point but it also lets you play Wii U games too. The Wii U also has all of the internet features still even including online for compatible Wii U games (Not Wii games). The Wii U however it does not allow you to play GameCube games on the system.

All in all the Wii is a great system that you can get for a fairly low price that allows you to play casual games and even get some exercise in.
